dc.description.abstractMass media is very important component of contemporary society. Mass media not only plays significant role to provide information, education, entertainment and to create awareness but also brings changes in people‘s opinions and behaviors, and facilitates for socialization. In the developing country like Nepal, it is crucial to mobilize the people of diverse ethnic communities, religions, cultures and ideology in the development activities. Mass media contributes to institutionalize the revolutionary changes brought up by information technology in the new millennium and to increase people‘s participation in development process. Media should be used to disseminate information for creating social awareness and involving people in various aspects of rural development to build a prosperous nation.en_US
