Abstract: The title of the thesis is 'factors associated with increasing the risk of HIV and AIDS in Nepal: cases from the Kathmandu valley'. This thesis is conducted for academic propose with the general objective is to identify the individual, socio-cultural, economic, political and educational factors associated with increasing the risk of HIV and AIDS. In National and international context, various factors are found associated with increasing the risk of HIV and AIDS from the previous literatures. Risk behavior of HIV and AIDS is defined as ''risk arises from individuals engaging in risk-taking behavior for a variety of reasons. They may, lack information on HIV, think that HIV and AIDS affect a different social stratum than their own, or may not have access to condoms
